What do you think of our class topics?

Students in our 10th grade Language Arts classes have been working diligently on the study of Transcendentalism.  They have examined works by Henry David Thoreau and Ralph Waldo Emerson, and have been writing really awesome pieces of poetry, papers, and creative writings.  It has been an enlightening experience for all.

9th grade students have been reading To Kill a Mockingbird aloud in class.  We have been doing fun games with this book, like playing fly swatter vocabulary and texting in answers to trivia related to the book.

Thing 1 and Thing 2

I am participating in 23 Things because even though I did not grow up with such technology, being a mom and teacher this technology is all around me and I want to be a part of it. I find it amazing! I hope to learn to set up a blog and then use it efficiently to enhance my teaching in the classroom and to enhance my communication as well as my data collection and use.
The new insight I gained during Thing 1 was was how many aspects of instructional strategies existed and how well they were organized and explained in our book, "Using Technology with Classroom Instruction that Works".
Writing on the internet is a bit intimidating. I keep what I post professional because I know anyone can see it. I think this is good practice for anyone.
